Ryan van Niekerk signs with EFC
Team MMA Fighter, Ryan 'The Lion' van Niekerk will be making his debut on the 2nd March for the EFC - Africa's leading MMA production. Ryan the current FightForce LightWeight Champion will be facing the experienced Paul De Vos. This will be the first step for Ryan in his quest to become the EFC LightWeight champion.

MFC (Megladon Fight Club) Cage Fighting promotions presented Morne with an award for being one of the leading figures of MMA in South Africa and for his cotinious contributions ensuring that MMA is placed on the map. This award was handed over in a recent tournament held at the Olive Convention Center n Durban, KwaZulu Natal South Africa.

Our junior division has been doing our team proud by dominating the mma competition scene. With a total of 20 wins and 1 loss in less than 2 years our young warriors have been leading by example with their dedication and awesome performances. Top junior fighters, Bradley + Dylan Swanepoel boast of some of the best junior records in the country with 6 wins 0 losses and 7 wins 1 loss respectively at top level amatuer tournaments. Phillip Goodger, head instructor of Tiger Kai recently visited our HQ for some training. Phillip personally trained with Coach Morne improving his knowledge and game in MMA. He owns his own fighting gym in Mossel Bay and has his students best interest at heart to offer them the best coaching and information possible to assist them being their best! Well done to Craig 'Nemo' Ninow from CombatCoaching.com Team MMA Fighter for winning the Fight Force Bantam weight title on Thursday the 11th November at the Durban exhibition centre. Nemo who challenged the champion Scelo Mavundla dominated this 3 round war in front of a sold out event in Durban. Nemo would have won the fight in the second round already by a triangle submission but was unfortunately gouged in the eye by the champion. We look forward seeing Nemo back in action in the cage during 2011!
Two fellow team mates, Mike Cooper and JP Vorster were also in action on the night. Mike dominating his Pro Light Weight fight with a well executed game plan and JP bowing the knee in defeat to an all out brawl which lasted two rounds. Well done to both these fighters who represented Team MMA Fighter with Pride and honour.

Bradley and Dylan does Team MMA Fighter proud There is a bright future for MMA when you know fighters like Bradley 'The Natural' Swanepoel (12) and Dylan 'The Punisher' Swanepoel (10) are hard at work improving their game on a daily basis. The two boys competed at their first MMA event which was hosted in Pretoria during the month of August 2010 and dominated their opponents taking convincing victories home for their team. Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) co-owner, Graeme Cartmell was also present at the tournament to witness the boys performances first hand and was in high praise and amazement at their level of expertise. Due to their impressive performances, their commitment and involvement with MMA they were accepted as part of Team BadBoy MMA sponsored athletes.

Chris Haueter(USA) 4th Degree Brazilian JiuJitsu BlackBelt visited South Africa to conduct various workshops and training with his personal student, Morne Swanepoel who represents Chris Haueter's Combat Base BJJ and MMA Technical Laboratories in South Africa.
Chris and Morne conducted various workshops covering techniques, training methods and tactics in BJJ and MMA over a 2 day period at CombatCoaching.com HQ in Amanzimtoti. The days were divided up into 4 segments i.e. Public session, BJJ Gi, Beach clinch clinic and Team MMA Fighter session giving all those who attended a wide variety of exposure to BJJ and MMA.
Chris's humility mixed with his passion for the science of JiuJitsu makes him one of the best instructors in the world in the arts of Brazilian JiuJitsu and Submission Wrestling.
